ABG Group has floated ABG Cement Ltd. for the purpose of entering into business of manufacture and sale of cement. The company has adequate financial resources for this business and has also access to first class managerial resources for executing and operating the plant.
ABG Cement is promoted by Mr. Rishi Agarwal who has been a very successful entrepreneur. He is the promoter of ABG Shipyards and other associated companies / businesses.
ABG Cement is headed by its Managing Director & CEO, Mr. Pradeep Kapoor. Mr. Kapoor has been associated with the cement industry for more than 35 years. He has been Managing Director and/or CEO of F.L.Smidth Ltd / Fuller India Ltd, Trafalgar House Construction India Ltd, Dodsal Ltd and Sanghi Industries Ltd.
Currently ABG Cement is in the process of setting up a 3.3 million tons per year Cement Plant in Kutch District of Gujarat. The plant would have a Captive Power Plant, Desalination Plant and a Jetty. The capacities of all these units would be adequate to support the above 3.3 million tons per year Cement Plant.
The area in which our Cement Plant is coming up has adequate quantities of Limestone which is the basic raw material for manufacturing cement. On commissioning of our first unit, we propose to double our cement manufacturing capacity very fast. The other locational advantage of our project is the availability of adequate quantity of lignite within the radius of a few kilometers. Lignite is the fuel which would be used by us for firing our Kiln, etc.
Since our location is on the sea, we are excellently placed to use sea transport to transport cement to the coastal areas of India and for export.
The company has already recruited a number of excellent quality professionals at various levels and the recruitment drive for more people is an on-going process.
The company has already appointed following world-class consultants for different activities-
- M/s. Holtec Consulting Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi for turnkey consultancy for executing the project.
- M/s. Min Mec Consultancy Pvt. Ltd, New Delhi for all matters related to Environmental aspects.
- M/s. WAPCOS, New Delhi for all matters associated with our Captive Jetty.
Tenders for main plant machinery and equipment have already been floated and orders would be finalised no sooner various Governmental Approvals are received.
The project is getting full support of the Government of Gujarat at various levels and it is on account of this support and encouragement that we hope to construct and commission our plant soon.
